Welcome to the website of Hansen Transmissions International, an established global designer, manufacturer and supplier of wind turbine gearboxes, with a leading position (by MW supplied) in the wind turbine gearbox market. Founded in 1923 to supply the industrial gearbox market, Hansen has since 1979 increasingly focused on the supply of gearboxes to the growing wind energy generation sector.
The international headquarters of the Company are located in Kontich, Belgium. Hansen has a fully integrated state-of-the-art dedicated wind turbine gearbox manufacturing facility in Lommel, Belgium, a +95.000mē wind turbine gearbox production plant in Coimbatore, India and a 29,000mē assembly and testing plant for wind turbine gearboxes for the Chinese market in the Beichen Hi-tech Industrial park in Tianjin.
The capacity of these three fully integrated plants results in a global annual manufacturing capacity for wind turbine gearboxes of 7,600 MW.
Our expertise in the design and production of gearboxes has resulted in high quality products and efficient manufacturing processes. Our tailor-made wind turbine gearboxes have low noise and vibration levels and high torque density and power to weight ratios. We have strong in-house testing and quality control capabilities and devote significant resources to our research and development operations to maintain and enhance our technological leadership.
