Hansen Transmissions is a globally established designer, manufacturer and supplier of reliable, tailor-made gearboxes for multi-MW wind turbines with a power capacity ranging from 1.5 MW up to 6 MW and more.

The Company is one of the industry leaders in the global multi-MW wind turbine gearbox market in terms of MW supplied. Hansen supplies gearboxes to the leading manufacturers of gear-driven wind turbines. These key customers incorporate the Company's highly efficient and reliable gearboxes into multi-MW wind turbines, deployed across the globe in high-profile onshore and offshore wind farm projects.

Hansen's customer base accounts for 62% of the cumulative world wide gear-driven wind installations end of 2010 (*). Close long-term co-operation with selected major turbine manufacturers has resulted in custom-made drive solutions to ideally fit each turbine application.

Hansen Transmissions currently operates 3 state-of-the-art manufacturing plants with an annual output capacity of 7,600 MW, with a manufacturing presence in Belgium, India and China, worldwide sales and service operations and approximately 1,450 employees worldwide.

Since mid November 2011 Hansen is a full subsidiary of the ZF Group and will become ZF's Wind Power business as a seperate business unit in the Industrial Technology Division. The global manufacturing footprint will be expanded with a fourth manufacturing plant in Gainesville, USA.
