Groundbreaking ceremony China

Antwerp (Belgium) and Tianjin (China), 9 September 2008: Hansen Transmissions International NV, (LSE ticker ‘HSN’), an established global gearbox designer, manufacturer and supplier, and a leader in the wind turbine gearbox market, yesterday held a ceremony to celebrate the breaking of ground for its wind turbine plant in the Beichen Hi-tech Industrial Park, Tianjin, Hansen Wind Energy Drives (China) Co., Ltd..

The project will involve a total investment of around Euro 200 million, the first phase of which will include construction of the assembly and testing facilities with an investment of about Euro 60 million.

Hansen will assemble and test the first gearbox in Tianjin in March 2009 and plans to have local manufacturing underway by September 2009.

Hansen’s factory is expected to reach its full capacity by early 2011. With an output of 3,000 megawatts per annum, the plant will have over 600 employees by 2012.

Between 2008 and 2012, the Chinese wind energy markets are forecast to grow by 721.3%, making it one of the fastest growing wind energy markets in the world.

Mr. Ivan Brems, Chief Executive Officer of Hansen Transmissions commented: "It is an important milestone for Hansen to have broken ground for its first wind turbine gearbox plant in China. Our presence and ambitions for our Chinese activities represent an essential part of our growth strategy.

David Jacobs new Sales & Marketing Director of Hansen Transmissions’ Industry Business Unit

Edegem/Antwerp, Belgium, 1 September 2008. - Hansen Transmissions International N.V. (ticker ‘HSN’), an established global gearbox designer, manufacturer and supplier with a leading position in the wind turbine gearbox market, today announces that David Jacobs has been appointed Sales and Marketing Director of the Industrial Business Unit.

David Jacobs (37) holds a number of degrees including those of Master of Industrial Engineering (Group T – Louvain) and Master of Business Administration (Vlerick Leuven – Gent Management School). David has occupied a variety of posts and was responsible for several departments at companies including Aquasystems International (B), Aquaturbo Systems (VS) and Baltimore Aircoil (B), where he acted, among other things, as Sales Manager, Project Manager and Business Process Manager. In his new position with Hansen Transmissions David will be responsible for sales and marketing in the Industry business unit, and in this capacity will report to Torsten Schultz, Managing Director of the business unit. Mr. Schultz explained: “I am delighted to be able to welcome David Jacobs to Hansen’s Industry Business Unit. He can boast of a goodly dose of experience in various sectors, and his knowledge and experience will indubitably contribute to the further success and growth of our business unit.”.

Hansen announces appointment of Cliff Dawson as Chief Operating Officer

Edegem/Antwerp, Belgium, 19 August 2008. - Hansen Transmissions International N.V. (LSE ticker ‘HSN’), an established global gearbox designer, manufacturer and supplier with a leading position in the wind turbine gearbox market, today announced the appointment of Mr. Cliff Dawson as Chief Operating Officer. Cliff, 58, joins Hansen from the automotive industry where he had an extensive career in operations management. He has lived and worked in Europe, North America and Asia where he had responsibility for multiple manufacturing sites with Ford, Visteon and most recently with Automotive Components Holdings Ltd. where he was Vice President of the Glass Operation. Cliff has a solid track record in the automotive industry, an Engineering degree from the University of East London and more than 35 years experience in manufacturing operations. As Chief Operating Officer, Cliff will be a member of the Executive Committee. Ivan Brems, CEO of Hansen, commented: “Cliff brings a wealth of experience in manufacturing and plant management to Hansen. His international experience in these fields make him a valuable addition to our management team.”

(LSE ticker ‘HSN’), an established global gearbox designer, manufacturer and supplier with a leading position in the wind turbine gearbox market, today announces the appointment of Mr. Jan Declercq as Director Business Development, Sales & Marketing for its business unit “Wind Energy”.

Jan (43 years) holds a Doctorate in Applied Sciences from the University of Leuven, Belgium and several other university degrees including an MBA and M Sc Mechanics and an M. Eng. He joins Hansen after an extensive career at transformer manufacturer Pauwels Trafo Belgium where he took the roles of Technology Development Manager and Business Manager. Jan Declercq is also Chairman of the Agoria Renewable Energy Club, a network of experienced Belgian companies who provide solutions, products and services in the field of renewable energy, and a member of several international technology councils. At Hansen, Jan will be responsible for the further development of the wind energy business and its related sales and marketing activities. In this position, he will report to Ivan Brems, CEO of Hansen Transmissions International who commented: “We are very happy to welcome Jan on board our wind energy business. Hansen Transmissions sponsors charity driver with clear plea for clean fuel solutions.

Lommel, June 20^th 2008. - On June 29th 2008, Matt Hunt, citizen of Lommel (province of Limburg, Belgium), will embark on an adventurous journey by motorbike to Mongolia to raise money for charity. Hansen Transmissions has a factory for wind turbine drives in Lommel, Matt´s hometown, and has agreed to sponsor his project based on the objectives Matt set himself.

When the chance occurs during his trip, Matt will request clean fuel. During his trip, Matt will map the wind turbines and wind turbine sites and send us pictures. Both clothing and motor feature the Hansen logo. At the end of his journey, his motorbike and all of his equipment will be auctioned off and the profit will go to the Children´s Foundation in Mongolia. Matt is personally very dedicated to charity (Save the Children) and also has a personal agreement for fund raising for UNICEF.

As "One-Man-Team Hansen", Matt will participate in a charity rally that covers approx. 10,000km, five mountain ranges and two deserts, taking him from Lommel to London via France, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzst
